Hunger Action Month

Hunger Action Month is a nationwide campaign observed each September to raise awareness about food insecurity and inspire individuals and organizations to take action in the fight against hunger. Led by Feeding America, the campaign encourages communities to support local food banks, donate food and funds, volunteer, and advocate for policies that help ensure everyone has access to nutritious meals.

The Monda Student Resource Center (MSRC) supports students through outreach events and year-round services, including the Student Food Pantry, Reid Family Career Closet, and guided connections to more than 30 campus and community resources. In recognition of Hunger Action Month, MSRC is joining the nationwide effort to raise awareness about food insecurity and support individuals facing hunger through food drives, donation campaigns, educational outreach, and community engagement activities.

These efforts are made possible through the generosity of community partners and donors, including Kroger and RXBAR (proudly part of Mars), who provided fresh produce, canned goods, protein bars, and volunteer support for MSRC’s first Mobile Market on September 3. By encouraging students, staff, and community members to take action, MSRC continues its commitment to reducing barriers to basic needs and helping create a healthier, more food-secure campus community.

Honor Hunger Action Month with a gift to the Student Food Pantry before September 30 and receive a match from Kroger and RXBAR.
